When you purchase private label articles (PLR) it’s important that you know how to make them your own. Most PLR is written in a very general format without much thought to the specific audience that the articles are meant for. That’s where you come in. You need to make the PLR your own so that you can get the most out of it.
Change the Titles
Start with changing the title of the article. You want your title to attract your special audience to read it. You want to use the keywords you’ve found that you want to target. Changing the title will automatically make your PLR more unique.
Change the Subheadings
In a well-written article there are usually subheads, bullet points and more. If there are, you need to rewrite these using different subheads and bullet points that use the keywords that you want to target, directed at your audience. If there are no bullets or subheads in the article, add them. People enjoy reading articles that are chunky more than they do a bunch of text without a break for the eye.
Rearrange the Order
Figure out a new way to present the material by rearranging the order in which the PLR is written. Move the bottom paragraph to the top and the top to the bottom, and mix up the rest of the article too. Do make sure that how you’ve changed it makes sense, though – you may need to add some new words to make it transition smoothly, or you may need to remove some words that no longer make sense.
Add Your Voice
Usually a person has a particular voice, be it humor, seriousness or a story related to the article that you need to tell. Doing this to the PLR article will make it very unique to you. For instance, if the article is about breastfeeding, you might talk a little bit about your own experience breastfeeding. If it’s about article marketing, you may want to talk about how the suggestions in the PLR article worked for you.
Add Keywords
In most PLR articles they aren’t focused on which keywords to use. Therefore, if you know what type of keywords you want to use based on your own keyword research, you can go through the article with the “find and replace” function to switch out the words they used to your keywords. For instance, if the keyword in the article is “lose weight” you might want to change it to “drop pounds” or another keyword phrase for which you want to rank.
Finally, even if your PLR came with some images you might want to change the images in order to personalize it even more. Putting in images that you’ve chosen that are high quality will make it stand out and look more unique. The important thing is to do what you can to make the PLR your own. It’s a good starting point, but don’t use it as is. Personalize your PLR as much as possible for best results.
